Don't Look So Worried

I got a text from my "alienated Ecological Marxist" mate Stewart at the weekend. Apparently him and Juile are getting engaged. Nice one.

Not sure why he looks so worried, perhaps one too many Belguim beers. Or after the lost weekend in Krakow last December, it could be the thought of the stag weekend...

London to Ulaan Bataar

Well, despite my reckoning otherwise, both Jamie and Iain's teams completed the Mongol Rally and made it safely to Ulaan Bataar.

Sounds like they both had the adventure of a lifetime. I reckon it's going to hard for them to go back to a 9 to 5 job after 5 weeks away drving 10,000 miles, that's for sure.

Kiev Beer Camera

Got Graham's "beer camera" photos developed yesterday. We always make a point of taking a cheapo disposible camera or two on holiday that we can take out to the pub, saves loses the decent digital cameras. It's always amusing to get them developed as we have no idea what is on them.

Guaranteed they'll be the most embarrasing and funny photos.

So, here are the photos

Not So Happy Birthday

It was my birthday on Saturday and I ended up spending most of it in hospital. I was playing football on Thursday lunchtime with my old work collegues and as usual I was playing in goals. Anyway, I attempted to save a shot from Mick and the ball caught my little finger and broke it.
I didn't even stop the goal.

I went to A&E that afternoon where it was strapped up and I was told to go back at 8am Friday morning. When I went back the surgeon was all excited as it was a bad break with the bone going through the joint and she was going to be able to do some cool shit to my finger.

It transpired that it would involve putting my under general anaesthetic, cutting my finger open and inserting two wires to wire the bones back up. Nice.

So, I spent Friday night in the hospital rather than in the pub and then most of Saturday.

It also means I will miss Sunday's Nuts tournament up at the Powerleague that we had entered a team for.

Think it may be time to hang up the goalie gloves...

Chi-town Baby

Stefan, Craig and Chris are playing on 18th August at Basura Blanca (Brunswick Hotel). Should be a good night. We were there for Chi-town Baby back in June when we were out for Graham's birthday and there were some top tunes.

The Opening Night

Here are the photos from Andy's exhibition opening @ Offshore on July 29th.

It went well with a good turn out and Stefan providing the tunes. Andy sold a couple too, so off to a good start. I'm chuffed for him.

The exhibition is on for the next two months.
