Audio Icecream is back on May 5th at The Research Club. As usual, I'll have best intentions to make it along......



"Spring has sprung with our 1st Audioicecream for a wee whiley!

This month for your musical pleasure:

Tom Reeve was half of Glasgow House funksters Overtone. Releasing several seminal recordings for Kushi and remixing Darkroom Dubs tracks, he is a DJ/producer and a half, rather than half a DJ/producer. He’s also a member of Weegie music mentalists Midnight Machine. Hailing from the same shire as Esteban, watch them catch up on drinking behind the bus shelter and how his house would shake when the 8:14am Cal-Mac would dock down the pier. Expect the funkiest disco breaks and spangly electric beats.

We’re very pleased to present the audio styling of Orillasound. This Producer/DJ hailing from E.K.O.K. has given us the all-clear to airlift him out his studio and put him behind the decks and laptop to rock out with techno, house, break-beat and whatever else he’s got up his sleeve/hard drive. Orilla’s not to be mist!

The Claw and Esteban Carracas will be doing a back-to-jack set from 9pm attempting to re-create Grandmaster Flash’s Adventures on the Wheels of Steel with a box full of Sonic Youth, Birtha, James Last, Graham Central Station, The Cosby Show Soundtrack, Mantronix, Soca and Lime, and the 274th St Evangelistic B-boy Choir. Or we might play something half decent – Clawesome!

Which leaves the Birthday Boy – Chris Mac We reckon if they were making a movie out of Chris’ life it would have to star the Fire Chief out of Ghostbusters. “I’ve seen every form of combustion known to man, but this beats the hell out of me” fame. Juno are sending him a birthday card and we hope to honour him by having the largest game of Twister the West of Scotland has ever seen during his set of jackin’ Chicago house music!

Due to him being a nice guy, he has decided to make this one a special price namely free before 12am, £1 thereafter. Don’t worry if you aren’t a student, you can sign yourself in without any membership jibber-jabber!
